basically, my mate has offered me his black 1l 52 plate arosa today only as he's got a buyer tomorrow.

the bodywork is a bit tatty, the screen is cracked and he clipped a curb last night and cracked an alloy and bent the lower arm slightly.

it has T&T but generally poor condition.

i would search the web but access is restricted at work, all but scn and clubpolo have been barred and he wants an answer on it today.

he's asking £500 for it with a new lower arm. i just need a runner while i sell the ibiza would it be woth getting it and doing the bits or tell him to keep it?

this is not a for sale thread i just want opinions of worth please.

What year? And how much mileage?

Could depend on a lot of things though, what are the tyres like because that will be another £150 if their low. And check service history/cambelt changes etc, it can all add up to the final price of the car if stuff is on its way out.

Have a browse through HERE and compare what condition their like with your mates arosa

52 plate, in the region of 90k. doubt it's got any s/h

tyres etc are not a problem i can get them for free.

on a 52 plate i would say that is reasonable. pretty high milage for a little engine but should be cool.

id go for it. a 52 plate car for £500 sounds good to me. id keep it for a while and tidy it up and maybe sell it for a £1000 or whatever and it will still make a cheap car at that.

thats what i've been thinking, keep it to run around in for a bit, tart it up then either sell it or do something stupid with it.

probably the latter knowing me!

Ah, Bora's are gorgeous. Would love one myself actually, not so great with big cars though. Its a shame they never made a Coupé...

Just tart it up when you sell it on, which will be easy as its a 1.0 and the market is always good for cars that can be insured by new drivers.
