just a quick one how do i get my standard steering wheel off, its a 6n with power steering and an airbag....

would be great to get a lil bit of light shed on this please

Hey mate,

How did you get on with fitting the showcage?

In answer to your question theres 2 allen bolts on the back of the steering wheel which you need to undo to get the airbag out - then you need to unclip the wire which just pops out and back in,

BE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BEFORE YOU DO THIS - You don't want the airbag going off in your face lol, it'll probally kill you and also if you disconnect the wire with the battery connected when you put the wire back in the airbag light will be constantly on until you get the on board computer reset =/ - But as i say, just disconnect the battery and everything will be fine =]

After you've taken the airbag pack out there's a large nut in the middle of the steering wheel - just unscrew this and the wheel comes straight off!

cheers for da advice, i aint got to fittin the cage in yet cos i aint too sure on keepin it...i change my plans on the car now and have started to save for some nice lil bits here and there so might sell the cage....

the germans are sneaky peeps and would do anything to take us out....hehehe

If the air bag went off with your face right next to it then it would break your neck,

I saw a video where they put a 12 stone dummy onto an airbag and it flew 5ft in the air when detonated..

Dangerous stuff - nothing to be joked about lol,

hes right guys! i saw that two. dont forget in acident it goes off before u hit it. if it goes of and hits u while its expanding you are shafted
