Wanting to put an amp in my car; need a remote wire. Where do you take it from?

The stereo loom has a wire called remote (usually a blue wire) you need to connect the blue wire you got with the amp wiring kit to that and run it to the remote bit of your amp :)

what headunit are you running?

A standard Vw HU may not have the remote wire but an after market one definately should. The reason for the remote wire is so the amp switches on and off when key is in/out of the ignition so your battery doesn't discharge

ahh, if you had an aftermarket head unit it would be labelled up...

since you are using a OEM HU...... you may have to run the remote from the ignition, so when you switch your ignition on, it send power to the remote to turn the amp on, but dont ask me how you'd do it or to which wire!!
