Insurance For A 1.6 8v 6n

Featured Replies

I'm 18, with no NCB, had a crash which i claimed liability for...Could anyone tell me how much they're currently paying for theirs?

Would it be worth buying a 1litre mk3 or something to run for a year to build a years NCB, providing the insurance isn't realistic on the 6n?

it all depends where you live dude, I've just turned 18 and had my licence since 2 days after my 17th and i got quoted 1500 for a 1.6 8v. . . mate who lives in scotland is the same age and passed his test on the same day as me and hes paying 1300 for the same car. you need to got onto some price comparison sites to get a rough idea then ring the insurance companies up and tell them youve had cheeper quotes and you will soon get a 'cheep' quote.

Will update when i get some quotes, wont be till tomorrow but the renewal is due in feb and I'm just waiting for it to be something silly like £2000....btw i wouldnt be getting rid of the polo just garaging it for a year and running the 1litre ..

What you think fellas?

1. Comparison companies

2. Ring for quotes

3. Wait for renewal

i find that comparison websites are excelent and sometimes renewals are good aswell !!

i not easy to compare to but i have two years driving and two years NCB and i pay 550 full comp !!

Cheers for the advice lads, i think its the crash against my name thats fucked me like...Will update nearer renewal time

I only pay 1300 for a 16v and I'm 17 so cant see 1.6 being more!
