It is an original GTi Sportline, one of only 449 made.

It has standard Recaro interior with no rips, wear, burns etc, electric power hood which was replaced with a Mohair one in 2006, but for peace of mind I have used Chemical Guys fabric roof cleaner and then 3 coats of Chemical Guys Fabric Waterproof so the rain beads on the roof instead of saturating the fabric. The paintwork is outstanding with a very deep bright shine, no signs of paint fade or previous repair. There are a few very small stonechips on the front edge of the bonnet.

I have the original grey leather bookpack which holds the service booklet etc which has 14 stamps in it, the last carried out by Awesome GTi on 18.10.06 at 100,232 miles, only 5,000 miles have been covered since then.

In August 2006 the Golf was booked in to Awesome for a "Vehicle inspection", this inspection is a very detailed process. There were three fractured suspension springs found so the owner had Koni suspension fitted all round (£350), the exhaust centre section and downpipe showed signs of weakness so the owner had the whole system replaced with a Milltech Stainless system, I still have the report and the invoices from the work completed afterwards totaling approx £1700. i have many invoices for service work etc carried out and also a certificate for the fitment of the Cat2 alarm/immobiliser

Current MOT is valid until 10.08.2009, the last MOT revealed no advisories

Previous owner was a Club GTi member who hardly used the car, he covered approx 1000 miles in the time that he owned it

I have every MOT certificate from new and a few tax discs and old logbook slips from previous owners (I am only the fifth owner, not bad for a 15 year old convertible!)

It pulls well in every gear, pulls straight with no knocks, creaks etc. No sign of any previous or current water leaks.

Comes with two sets of keys, one with immobiliser plip. I even have the original metal key tags supplied from new!

The stereo isn't original but doesn't look out of place as it is a Kenwood CD player from the 90's which suits it well.

The only bad point I can think of is that the MFA doesn't seem to work, it is stuck in the clock mode, I have been told by a mechanic that this is just the switch

Oh! also the large Milltech tailpipe is no longer on there! Is now a subtle 2 inch rolled-in tailpipe though rest of system is the Millteck one, not too loud
