check the last pic i just uploaded, top view

Get a front-on view to be certain, but yeah looks illegal.. to be fair if you're not sure or think it's borderline, its not worth the risk..

yep illegal

ILLEGAL!!!! might get away with it, with some uber stretch on them...also i was warned by the police, its possible to receive 3 points per wheel but not sure on the truth of that

sean

i'd beleive the 3-point thing if they classify it in the same terms of having unsafe tread, because i beleive that's a three-pointer per wheel.

its 3 points per wheel :crybaby: ...same as bald tyres.

tom

If your tread lines up with your arches, your safe as houses, no laws about having your rims sticking out.

First pic looks borderline, second looks like its sticking out,, however might be the angle you took it at?

if he played dumb he would proberly have to take to a mot place with different rims so there in the arch

Could do with a bit more stretch or get the arches flared.

Bit of a risk taker is he, they would have a lot of fun catching a newly qualified driver for something like this and just to make an example probably would give him 3 points per wheel. and 3x4 doesnt add up to a good number for those who have been driving for over 2 years either.

Get a flat surface and place it flush with the arch, lower it down until it touches the tyre, if its on the tread then it is illegal, on the side wall and you may just get away with it.
