Question About A Cat D Write Off

Featured Replies

I made a rather stupid mistake and not checking the cars history before i bought it and about 4 months after I checked just to make sure everything was ok with it and found out it was CAT D write off in 2007, I lost the boy I bought it off's number so I can't find out what it was wrote off for, is there anyway to find a detailed description off what it was written off for?

Cheers

the only thing you can do is HPI it , will cost you a couple of quid , and it will only tell you what catagory it was and when it happened . which you know already

would not worry to much as a cat d means it was the smallest of accidents / stolen recovered / vandalised , basically just enough not warent spending main dealer money on it

its only cat A / B that are never aloud on the road again

Yeah I bet its annoying finding it was a cat D, but as above its only cosmetic damage/stolen recovered/light damage.

cheers folks

I have a cat d nod, did the same as you also and didnt check :(

cat d is mainly paint/panel damage

cat c is structual and requires a vic test to be permitted back on the road.

cat d nothing to worry about, just annoying.
