Mk3 Polo....

Featured Replies

i bought an elbow from a mk3 golf to replace the crappy pancake airbox that i got at the moment.

the problem is, the studs aren't long enough to go through the elbow :S

I've got a 1993 mk3 polo squareback 1L.

can anyone help?

remove the studs and use some long M6 bolts

how do u remove the studs and how thick are they?

m6 bolts?

to remove the studs get two bolts and screw them on to the stud one on top the other . tighten the two bolts together , then using a spanner on bottom bolt try and undo the nut this should unscrew the stud!!

hope you understand and hope this helps !!

studs can be removed with 2 10mm nuts locked together.

M6 is a pretty standard metric thread of approximately 6mm in diameter.

If you go to a hardware store with your freshly removed studs and ask from some M6 bolts with either 5mm allen heads or 10mm hex heads of the correct length they will be able to supply what you need.

Alternatively have the throttle body from a larger engined golf too. search function should have the info required on that conversion.
