well as far i can tell i have a positive camber on both my fronts wheels as the inside wears alot quicker then the outside of tyre is there a easy way to straighten them up so more then 1.5-2 inches are contacting the road then pulling or pushing the suspension struts about???

mates told me they did his car by 2 bolts located behind the brakes tightening an loosening them any heard same or even done it or shall i just pay to get a garage to do it

reason to change camber is I'm doing 6 front tyres to every 2 rears

you have negative camber.... get a garage to do it as they will have the correct measuring guages, alternativly you can undo the two bolts that hold the strut to the stub axel and set it vertical by eye.... i would get a garage to do it as they can also do the tracking

any place in berkshire that do camber adjusting i want a decent place not a cheap guy

tracking could be the cause of the uneven tyre wear, i'd have that checked first.

i assume you've lowered the car?

There is a little bit of camber adjustment by loosening the two strut to hub bolts, pulling the top of the hub outwards and then tightening the bolts again. If it's not enough then you can slot one of the bolt holes using a file.

This should be done by a garage with wheel alignment gear, you'd have to be very lucky to get it right by eye. They should do the tracking at the same time too.

a spirit level is no use because how to do you know the car itself is level? just doing it by eye is probably the best way to do it yourself but you'll never get it spot-on.

I'd say £80 is pretty damn expensive. I paid £70 not so long ago for full wheel alignment on my g40 including camber adjustment, castor adjustment (possible because of subframe and salzmann top mounts) and tracking at a motorsport place near Nantwich, they had the car up on the ramp for about an hour and a half and they also drive it before and after so they can see if it's ok.

i paid £50 for mine as my mate wasn't in (i usually get it for free)

id do it by eye to get it relatively straight, check it once its on the ground by rolling the car forward and backwards, if its not ridiculously negative or postive cambered then rock on down to the garage, most will do tracking for 25 and camber alignment for 15 quid, best to blag it at garages too and say your checking prices, whatever they quote you say the garage down the road said 20 quid less see what they say.

can the camber be got back to level if there is not much adjustment and the cars been lowered loads. I've also herd about camber adjustment kits

But yea you can do it by eye, that's how I generally do mine, but you will have to get the tracking done as changing the camber will also change the toe in/out
