I read up on it, think 4" needs slight trimming etc. Think 3.5" would be a standard fit.. up to you. am going to check these out..

I trimmed the holes slightly to fit 4" speakers in my GT. I couldnt see the pointof 3.5" ones and i had a set of 4" laying around anyway

I'm going to replace mine I think, sound isn't good when its loud, any recommendations? Surely any will be better than standard? say £10-£20 ones

i have infinity kappas in mine and they sound superb

They're a lot better than the standards, but not amazing. Even though these are 3.5" I still had to trim the pocket to fit, and cut the lugs off the speakers. Hope this helps!

I've got those JBL's. Rather good for the size, got matching ones in the rear too.

I was after the infinity ones but think they stopped doing them. cant find them anywhere anymore anyway.

3.5's are standard but 4's fit easily enough.

I just bought some clarion ones that are ok, they were four inch and yeah u need to trim the holes upfront a wee bit. but there easy enough to fit in snug and they sound alright.

Best method is to use a dremel, failing that get a round file on it!

3.5" JBL's.. cheap, sound good enough.. no need for trimming or anything, straight fit.

That's what I used to do mine, got a bit excited with it and trimmed too much off on the one haha

Out with the old & in with the new!

Just fitted them & the 20w RMS is plenty for my needs, really clean mids & treble, £26 Delivered. I play mostly bass heavy tunes so have tweaked the eq on the H/U to reduce bass to the fronts & more to the sub.

Word of warning, had to crimp male & female connecters onto the wires, is not the standard polo speaker fitment.

If you have no problem with basic wiring, I would deff recomend these as a cheap but decent quality upgrade for your standard mkIII :]

I have a pair of mb quart upfront, came with the first MK3 i owned 3 years back now, still got them in my current car with JBL 6x4's in the rear... £6 quid from a scrappy and almost brand new!
