Been caught speeding £60 fine and 3 points, but the police officer seemed to think it wont increase my insurance, he said its only 6 points+ that increases it. That true??

Thanks

Just noticed he put my car down as silver and its blue anthracite lol.

Got clocked at 50.71mph going into a 60 from a 30, the van in front was doing well above that though. Yeah I'm dreading my re-newing my insurance though.

He also though my car was silver though (even wrote it on he form) its like a dark grey lol.... if that will do anything??

Have i got to phone the insurance company I'm currently with to let them know aswel??

My fella got an SP50 last year 3 points and £60 fine. The policeman said same to him that his insurance wouldn't go up but we had a look on net with his insurance company and did a new quote so when he comes to renew it it goes from £800 to £1500 with 2 years ncb so he's gonna have to shop around bit.

Oh no youve got me worried now, i hope it doesnt go up that much, or i can kiss goodbye to getting coilies :crybaby:

putting the wrong colcour does invalidate that though,....

Popular myth :) Wrong colour car on a NIP makes no difference, especially if the reg is correct and there's a photo of the offence taking place.

You could try and convince a court, but it wouldn't stand a snowball in hell's chance...

Yeah what he said, get 6 points if i took it to court. He brought up the speed and distance on his computer but not if there was a photo (should ask for a copy lol)

I currently have a sp30, 3 points and 160 quid fine and a court appearance (because i was stupid enough to ignore the NIP)

My insurance has gone up by £20 per month. Pretty shit, But could be worse i guess.

my mate got 3 points for overtaking wher he shouldnt, so to insure his next car (focus rs) without points: 1400, with points: 1900

For first time drivers, 17/18.. you can expect to pay around £500 extra per 3 points.

Do I have to tell the insurance company that I'm with now?? Or is it when you just get a new quote??

grey...silver... same thing

stays on your licence for 3 years.... most insurers take it into consideration for 5 years (as most will ask you 'any motoring convictions in the past 5 years?'), but always shop around come renewal time... all my premiums have been more to renew than their inital cost, so i just went elsewhere!

My insurance doubled when I got my IN10 and LC20 ;) I'm paying £170 a month on the Olop. TPFT.

Didnt make a huge dif to me when i got an SP10 (I think) 3pts, 60quid. Over the 3-5yrs it proberly adds up though. I was more worried about getting caught again in the first 2yrs and getting banned.

So whats all the different codes for?? I never got told which code I got or do i find that out when i get my licence back?? He just said 3points and £60 fine.

Depends what you got caught for.

Were you doing 100mph on a 30mph road or 35mph on a 30mph road???

mine didnt go up too much, think you kinda get let off for first three. make it six and goes up a lot then.

How long does it take to get drivers liecence back??

got a sp30, £150 fine ...no points but a ban for a month ...no change in insurance at all.

no my 2nd driver has hit someone and the other people are claiming, would that mean i lose my 3 years unprotected no claims? and insurance increase? ...when its not even my fault. grr.
