Insurance When I'm 18

Featured Replies

hopefully in march when i turn 18, i'd like to get either a 1.4 polo or 1.4 seat ibiza about 1999. i have tried a few quotes but i haven't had anything cheaper than 1600. i won't have any no claims and it was with directline, virgin and quinn. Is there anyone who has got insured on the same car etc but obviously cheaper. any help would be great

cheers george

Guys seriously try Admiral. They allow mods and are a little cheaper than the ones you are suggesting.

haha, just did a quote with admiral, with my mum as a named driver to see if it brought it down.

£3200 lol

until you have some no claims under your belt, your going to have to pay quite high premiums.

a case of like it or lump it I'm afraid.

try e-car though.

My mate was on a 1.4 ibiza for about 1200 i think, when he was 18 aswell. Cant remember who it was with off the top of my head tho  Iv found some good quotes with admiral aswell on my 1.3 6n :)

My mates 17 and has a 1.4 Ibiza. Online quotes were £3k+ with Quinn but he rang them up and managed to squeeze an awesome premium out of them - £1100 fully comp (only mod he has is alloys, which he declared).

In comparison, I'm 17 and paying £1350 for third party cover on my 1.2 9n (again only mod alloys, which are declared) because I'm lazy and just used the online quotes (I'm with endsleigh by the way).

I think I will just keep searching and if I get a good one I will just ring them up and haggle lol

ring up u save loads also try endsliegh with mods they were cheapest for me :)

I'm 18, no no claims, £650 on a 1.3 polo (thats with bell) so a 1.4 shouldnt be too much more. Also stick your rents as named drivers on it, that should bring down the cost a bit!
