I'm not a happy bunny.

My mk4 failed its MOT yesterday :(

Both suspension arms need replacing and the gaitor (?) has split. :(

No advisories though which I suppose is a good thing. x

yeh it will be your cv gaitor... i bet it was just the wishbone bushes needed replacing but they couldnt be arsed to change them so they decided to replace the whole arms..... :|

Well he hasnt done the work yet. He said that if I were to just replace the bushes, then the ball joints would prob need replacing too in a couple o' months. Thought it might be best to get the whole thing done to save on labour etc.

Around £250 to get it all done including the MOT but I dont really know of thats good or not ? :?

The ball joints are seperate to the bottom arm.

When I used to work at Audi we used to replace the arm due to the labour of changing the bush worked out the same as the extra cost of a new arm.

got the same problem with my 6n,just bought 2 new wishbones inc ball joints for 45 quid

Mine failed on exactly the same thing last year. Fairly easy to do if you know some one handy with tools :)

Inconsiderate tbh!

I think its a fair price, but not sure.. I paid less but my mate did it..
