Head Unit Loses Memory

Featured Replies

Hi, i finally got my first car and its an ace polo 6N 1.4. I just bought a new sony head unit for it, but everytime i get back in my car, it has lost all of the equaliser custom settings and all of the radio pre-sets. It seems to go back to its factory settings.

Any ideas? could it be my car or maybe the head unit?

thanks in advance.

i had this problem. if you swap the two wires in the back around ie the yellow goes into the red and the red goes into the yellow. that should sought the problem.

your 12v supply and earth are the wrong way.....

or it could be the 12v permanent supply and 12v ignition supply that have been connected he wrong way round.

get a multi meter out and check which is which, and refer to the wiring diagram of the head unit.

sorted

you need the original keys for the head unit ideally, otherwise you can either buy keys off the internet or other methods include using coat hangers or brute force!

basically anything which will fit down the sides of the unit and be able to pull it out again
