hi peeps ime sat about 100mmish on the front n the anti roll bar is actually touching the chassis jus wunderd if any 1 on here new a way round this???

upgraded anti roll bar.....but do they sit lower?

cut a notch in the chassis n weld back up inside the notch???

if any 1 has or has had this problem and solved it could they let me know plz...cheers heres a few pics

As the car is lower of stiffer suspension you'll have less body roll anyway

Aslong as your front wheel alignment is spot on you should be ok.

mines same,,been sat on the arb since i lowered it.knocks like a idiot on rough roads.

prob fail a mot if you remove it

just let it rattle i ran my old polo for a year with it at 100mm and doing the same on my current one

On a mk4 the lesser models don't even have one.

You're neglecting the fact it doesn't actually matter. It's not part of the MOT. I have run at least 3 mk1/mk2 escorts without front anti roll bars, people running subframes on mk3 polos remove the arb. It's not part of the MOT if its not there hence the lesser models still pass without one.

And it's chassis btw.

like a spare wheel and rear wiper, if you have one in the car it is checked as part of the mot, if its not there, there is nothing to be checked!!

and I'm sure that 16v or not they all have them as standard!!

Not all mk4s have a front ARB at all. I conversed this with tobyK a while back. 16v, diesel and 1.6L only (i think). 18mm diesel and 1.6L, 16v 20mm or german mk4 GTI 22mm.

This is what happened to my polo as well and am only sitting at 80mm all i done is fit rubber seals around them and its been fine ever since no bad rattles nothing and it goes through a MOT fine

okey guys thanks for the advice.all I've done to stop the banging is cut and old tyre up and bond it to the arb.hey presto it doesnt bang and has stoped wearing my chassis away.and u guys are right jus got under the polo ime breaking which is a 1ltr chassis and it hasnt got a arb on it, neither has my mates 1.4 8v se??dnt no y this is tho?????
