Hi,

would this fit into a 1.05 GL Polo from 1984 that has now a Solex carb in?

  • Author

dont know?

the solex was only fitted on the early polos and i dont know how the carb mounts on them, so i really cant say.

I've lent the carb out to a mate at the mo anyway

Thanks, it looks somewhat different and as I am not an expert on this ...

Pretty sure it will but check with

www.webcon.co.uk WEBER HQ

Thanks for that!

I've seen that Web page already but I didn't find there anything. In one pdf file it says there:

VW Polo/Derby

1043cc 1981-85 1527075000 32 IBF Solex 31 PIC 7

1043cc 1985-90 1527075200 32 TL Pierburg 1B3

1043cc 1985-90 1527075200 32 TL Weber 32 TLA

So, it looks like it wouldn't fit my 1984 Polo but I know now the model of my Solex carb: "Solex 31 PIC 7".

i'd stick with the solex if i were you. is it manual choke? i had a derby with a manul choke solex 31, the carb had been pro serviced and it worked like a dream, the car went well too.

Yes, it's a manual choke.

Thanks for your advice. I am getting closer now. A week ago, I had absolutely no clue. Now, I got a few options. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Does the pierburg come with everything ready to bolt onto a manifold?
