Hey i have a massive crack in my windscreen adn i am fully comp excess means a £75 charge for a new one, but what is involved in fitting as surely it could be cheaper getting a scrap one?

From my understanding:

Cutting it out using cheese wire

then cleaning all the old sealant off

then apply new sealant and fit new windscreen

but i have never done it just from what i been told

i wouldnt bother with DIY bonding windscreen's

It didn't look too easy. Autoglas guy came and did mine last week, and it doesn't look easy at all.

If it's only 75 quid get autoglass to come sort it for you as windscreens are 500quid new. My insurance made me pay 60 for mine through autoglass.

You might aswel go for it mate. I'm not saying your incapable of replacing a windscreen, but it did look complicated, and atleast that way you get an autoglass warranty for as long as you have the car I think.

I also don't think claiming for windscreen repair increases the price of your next quote.

dont do it yourself lol, just get them to do it.

Oh no i meant in which sub forum as there isn't a "window" one haha.
