As title,

need to get some box section welded into my floor to mount my bucket seats, this is on the lupolo and i want to get it done soon so i can crack on with putting it all back together

Do you have a welding set or do you need someone with their own kit ?

i dont have a welder no, so ideally id want someone to bring thier own, however I'm not adverse to buying one new or 2nd hand as I'm planning of learning over the spring anyhow

I can mig weld, but don't have my own set (yet). Can also do ark welding, but thats no use on cars really.

if you can sort out some way to get the welder up to you I'm sure are jay will do it mate

as tempting as that is, the old seat rails have been cut out, so id really want those bits plating up as well as box section putting in for the seat rails. I dont really want to attack the floor or underseal as I'm sure given a couple of years the seat mounts will rot through =[

SVA or not Saf I wouldn't reccomend it. Not to mention it will look like the most pikey shit I ever seen.

Plates to spread the loads and then weld in the box-section.

I wouldnt bolt them through the floor man, whenever i see a set of cheap seats for sale and ask how theyve mounted them its usually some mchoosive bolts of doom through the floor. reminds me of that bench in the back of the beruitingo.

It's fine if done right. The ones in my cousin't kit car are done like that and we've tested it my lifting the car by them without issue.

Saf, knowing where your unit is why not ask the landlord if he has the details of any mobile mechanics for the agricultural world.

Obviously check they can weld lighter steel first, as some of these guys only weld serious lumps of steel together.

Just a though, but could be pricey.

Mig welder here to borrow, but the thing is huge & I don't fancy transporting the gas about.....just in case!!!!
