It looks rough round the edges, maybe you could angle grind it all the way round the lip so its even all the way round?

Also are you painting it where the paints come off before you put the trims back on? If not i'd lacker it o hammerite it to prevent it corroding badly under the trims.

Looks good though and atleast its legal now :)

Aye i will be throughly undersealing everywere and a coat of waxoil then puttin the trims back on ..

At the end of the day iff your looking to get a neat edge and run the car with no arch trim afterwards you need to get the work done profesionally you will also no doubt anytime need to paint the wing aswell ..

You sure you will be able to get the arch trims back on? It Looks quite good and at least it looks more legal!

love diy arch flaring, i used a method off driftworks involving a bottle jack which worked quite well. type in "diy arch flaring without a roller", in google, its the first link that comes up. godfrey

nice attempt m8

I think you've done really well for your first attempt

Never get good at something unless you do it

Cheers guys :-D

I'm going to neaten up were i finnished off then crack on with the other front arch

It is going to be a pain to get the arch trim to sit flush as is so a bit more work higher up inside the arch is needed

Do you think this will work effectivly people ? I think it will work well .. Rather pikey though :?

  • Cut the edge of the outer lip of the arch into 2" incriments running around 2/3rds of the arch
  • Rivet arch trim on in lower holes on either side of the arch
  • Hold arch trim out at desired position and angle
  • Panel beat arch which should effectivly be far more maluble being cut every 2" into form
  • Remove arch trim and glassfibre gaps left over iff desired

My only problem would be to ask the best way of securing the arch trim at the top of the arch other than drilling through and then filling ontop of the screw head and painting to match trim .

Cheers again everyone :-)

its still illegal

You really should have thought about this before you started. So much wrong with it all. Sorry to be a c*nt about but you need to sort this properly otherwsie your gonna end up in a whole world of hurt. Xcore is right, this looks pretty illegal too.

Give me time and you will see the finnished product .

Constructive critisism would be far better ..

As said before this is form over function as the area is coverd by arch trim .

When looking from above the arch is pulled out enougth to not see the wheel potruding past it .

Johnny-Depp---Edward-Scissorhands--C1010

is this the bastard love child of hardchargingg40 and polo vixen?

Sorry, ill be contsructive. Maybe you could stretch the tyre a touch, dial some camber and properly roll the arch and actually lower the car?
