I've got a few bits of surface rust under my paint on the wing and i was wondering if you guys reckon it would be worth having a go at it myself because it's not a show car and i just want it to look half decent not perfect.

i know how to go about it but i was wondering if anyone has given it a go on their own cars and what were the results?

any advice or anything would be appreciated

I sorted rust out on mine, as long as you take your time you can do it yourself. Just don't expect the repair to be not noticeable, especially if you have a metallic paint (looks like you got relfex silver like me) which is pretty much impossible to match DIY!

Also use zinc primer on the bare metal to hinder mor rust coming through, and practice on something before your car if you haven't sprayed before

yeah not expecting it to come out amazing but anything is better than a load of rust!lol ill try my best to blend it in! might see if i can get a crappy wing or something from the scrapyard to see how it turns out first.

Have you got somewhere undercover to do the job. Would get a better finish if you have & can wait for the warmer weather. Did mine in my garage. Like you just want it to look reasonable.

Need a warm calm day for the top coat. 1 tip is to dampen the floor around the car to stop dust blowing around

nah not got anywhere undercover really, ill wait for a sunny day and try and get it done or stick a gazebo up over it in case it rains!lol
