TBH in the current market i would not be buying brand new.

Why not, the deals at the best we have ever seen! Thats why the 6mth old cars are cheaper then before. Most deals you dont have to pay much in the couple of years and the finance is really good.

Nah disagree. As the ones that are six months old are sitting there doing nothing on the fore court. You can get them for well under the mark up price, just for the fact the dealer does not want them sitting on the fore court any more.

You will not get so much of a Brand new car as they are not the dealers problem untill you order. Yes the mark up of a brand new car has come down tho.

Not really. As i don't drive a polo any more. They have the same engine and chassis. And there is nothing stopping me changing for one when ever i want.

True, but I reckon Panda's situation maybe slightly different so it really don't matter if he buys a new 'un as it won't affect him personally.

I said I would never buy a new one.....until my Mk5 Golf and then I specced it to the hilt with extra kit and just said sod it!!! The list price of mine is hideous, but still managed to get a slashed deal through a trader!!

It is a filter system that they have on the diesel mk5's. There were lots of problems with them filling up and then giving a warning light on the dash.

All you have to do is rag shit out of it to clean them out and they are fine.

VW were getting so many back that when they sold a model with it you had to sign a form that you understood that it was not VW's fault if came on.

Ahhh yes, i think this was only late spec 140PS's and more commonly the 170PS.

My 140 on a 56 plate isn't equiped with this filter/valve but agree to the "joe public" it can be a pain in the arse. It was explained to me it was a manifold "recycle" system and ragging it would sort it, only to the advisor on the end of the telephone then realising I didn't have the valve!!! It was just a misfire that had turned on my ECU light.

We wait with baited breath to see how the common rail TDi's get on, but from a tax point of view they are a winner!!!

DPF: Diesel Particulate Filter?

Just unplug the vacuum sensor, plug it back in and there you go, the system thinks it's only 20% blocked so the light goes out and the car won't cut out
