Yes all 8v gearbox's are the same just different gear ratio's so it will rev longer than usual.

well i phoned up hadwins ant they said it wouldent or are they just telling me that so i buy a gear box off them ??

my mate has a 1.6, he had to get a 1.6 box for it, and i dont think a 1.6 will go on a 1.4. 1.0 might, and a 1.3, but i think the 1.6 is different. (wheres hayesey, he knows everything )

no i dont were would it be ??

It will fit and work , the ratio may be a bit long though so you will accelerate a bit slower

box code should be in the boot on a sticker under the mat

well tht no goog is accelerrate slower lol ye i find out mate i went to a garage coz he does lots of vws and tht what he said so thanks for you help i gess it beta having 2 peoples saying it will be ok than 1

i carnt get in my boot as the is a fuck oof sub tht covers the hole boot lol I'm going to take them out off the boxs and just av 1 i think lol
