My Car Just Got Confiscated

agreed someone is covering their backs.

you should have been quoted distance "X" protruding from wheel arch at bare minimum, and obviously a sniffness reading on you suspension.

vosa would have been tasked to test these if there is such test for suspension, and I'm quite sure there would have been a fee involved payable by yourself.

get back down the cop shop, ask which vosa unit and examiner saw the vehicle, where your copy of the test documentaion is.

dude the police or vosa or the examiner havnt said anything with what was wrong with it, i was told my the lad behind the desk who works there at 24/7 who was on my side!

no paper work, my dad has phoned the cop shop to speak to the copper who pulled me & hes still not there, he phoned vosa & the examiner who examined it wasnt in today so no one can tell me whats wrong with it! jsut the guy at 24/7

so yerr its been really fucked up

BUT!

my mum spoke to the head cheif police matey at the wycombe station & he was shocked i didnt recieve any paper work when i was tugged, & he is 99% sure its totaly wrong doing that

SO there is still a little bit of hope! so i will fight dont worry!

dk & dirts i know it sounds like I'm being a push over but its now wedneday, i was done on saturday! & weve had nothing from the police, jsut them saying we will call you back, no understanding on the situation, what we need tod o, when i can drive & its soul destroying with all the effort myself & parents are doing, & i jsut feel so down

i know for a fact i wont be able to the run the borbets, the fight will be to maybe claim some money back & prevent myself from reciving anymore fines or points

one step at a time

i which i had a car like this

so do i lolzzz

& jonny it seems they couldnt give a fuck

at the end of the day the copper didnt know shit, & it seems like what he says is final so even if i throw him pages & pages he wont care cos he will deem it 'dangerous'

& i jut dont fancey dragging it all out for the sake of some wheels even tho i love them so much

if however they try & give me points & a fine then its a different matter

id report the car as stolen lol

coz as far as i can see, it has been

thats what it feels like

its so frustrating i wont ever be abe ot run poke on it like that again

wait till i go to the dark side & get a mark4 golf, the arches are huuuge

Which offset did you get though? Am sure you get a choice on the 14x8's, i think its either et15 or et20, think i got the 20 but il need to check.

Id be tempted to go in the police station armed with a sleeping bag, and say I'm not leaving until i speak to that stupid officer thats caused me all this grief, lay it all onto them, if u back down now and accept payin a 150quid of your own money then u truely are a .....pussy haha

Cheer up dude, it could have been alot worse, just keep your fingers crossed that this is the end of it.

The thing is, the cops took the car for 'stiff suspension', but you failed the test on poking wheels..

I can see it going like this..

''You took the car off me for stiff suspension, but that didnt even fail on it''

''But you failed on poking wheels.. they were illegal...?''

''Well yeah but....''

''Shhh.''

From a similar personnal experience 2 years ago mate, which i got 6 points for, it's not worth the hassle, honestly.

It's so much effort trying to beat the system, and 99% of the time it ends in failure.

I'm not trying to put you down but you already seem pissed off and if it was me i'd just want to see the back of this situation, and start as you mean to go on.

You have a sweet car, dont pussy out and buy a Golf  stick some legal wheels in, something nice in white, sort the plates out, and in a months time when the shows kick off, you'll be grinning from ear to ear.

Chris.

Sam

ahhaha you cracker

Get some standard looking ones back on and the second you pass out of the police forces border swap them back. :ninja:

Every force has different rules and its getting fucking ridiculous, half of the coppers on our roads only know where the petrol goes because it says on the cap but North Wales cant even tell the difference between unleaded and Diesel even when its printed on the flap fuckwits. Dyfed Powys are picking on everyone with a slightly nonstandard looking car, mum got pulled in her Mango Saxo reason: "the color makes it look modified" FFS.

Still cant see what they have "failed" you on really, the suspension on the police car would have been different as its not the same type of car, as for the wheels i know its a grey area but from the pics your tread looks well under the arch.

dude that would jsut be asking for it putting them back on!

BUT iv got a slight update

my dad spoke to the people at vosa while i was at work, & they said aslong as it passed an mot then it should be fin by their rules!

& looking at my car theyve got a white pen, marked on the tyres which are fronts & backs etc but theyve also marked where the scrubbing is...

but no markings on the stretch on the fronts which got me thinking

if the people at 24/7 said is the suspension, it may jsut be due to the scrubbing, not the poke, cos its too low on the rear

soooo this may mean i can jsut raise the rears, get some new tyres & i might be able to the run the borbets!

BUT thats jsut me doing detective work & being hopeful lol...

i will get the judgement tomoro when the copper is back on duty to sort it

so if all goes well i can keep the Ts

then what i will do is go to vosa in biester, get an mot style test where if it passes i will have a certificate

then in the future i can jsut throw that in the coppers face if i get tugged again, then they can fuck right off!

i suggest anyone else whos had problems in the past or are worried do this, or even call voa & find out wjhat they can do to secure their car

along with documents & guidlines of poke etc this should back you 100% i would imagine, or atleast give you a huge advantage if anything was to happen

cos you dont think it will happen to you, i didnt, & the worst possible thing happened of having my car taken away & not being able to drive it for almost a week!

Thats shit that mate!!! its bringing all those hatred feelings back towards the police!!! Thing is, everyone does know that wheels sticking out the arch is not legal...just the risk you take! What made it worse for me at the time was i was just round the corner from my house, at the time i had 4 sets of wheels....i fukin pleeded with the copper to follow me to my house and i'll swap em there and then....oh know....cant let you do that sir, then proceeded to take hundreds of pictures of the wheels...FUCK OFF!!!!

:angry::disgust:

how much is the test going to cost ??

:( Shit............ This is a horrid story!!

test will be pointless, as its down to officer discretion, for example i take my car to the vosa centre (basically a second mot) it passes

i go home and fit my wide rims and drop it on its ass

wont change owt!

no i was going to get it tested on the Ts if i keep hold of them, thats all

i only mentioned it cos i would rather pay 45/50 quid then pay 150 for it to be flat bedded up to the impound, then have to pay that again to get it home [if i didnt have a mate with a trailor!] then risk getting points, & a further fine, & now have my car being watched everytime a traffic cop goes past & my plate bleeps up on their computers

but thats jsut an extreme lol

jsut to give you peace of mind that you can show the officer when it gets tested its going to come back okay & you wont be charged for anything

I'm ONLY SAYING THE ABOVE BASED APON WEATHER IT FAILED BECAUSE OF SCRUBBING!!!!!!!!!!!

I MAY BE WRONG & THE WHEELS MAY BE ILLEGAL TO THEM ASWEL BUT I'm HOPING IF THEY DONT MIND THE POKE & STRETCH ITSELF IT WILL BE OKAY, IT MAY HAVE BEEN THE FACT I HAVE NO ARCH GAP WHAT SO EVER SO IV GOT CARVES IN MY TYRES WHICH 'MAY CAUSE A BLOW OUT' .....

had to say that before people went nutty at me lol

Reading through this and imo, it still seems that the officer wasnt following the correct procedure.

I'd be making a complaint against the copper concerned regardless. They have rules they have to follow and he didnt - end of.

If its failed on rubbing then fair enough, Its easily sorted.

WELL................... :doubt:
