Another New Breadvan Joining Forum

Featured Replies

Just bought myself a Mk2 Polo on Ebay so thought I would join this forum. Here are some pics of it at the minute.

No great plans for it, just fix the few wee problems it has at the minute. Doesn't run too well, needs top strut mounts and a wheel bearing. When these are done I can start thinking of the good stuff like wheels and lowering.

Always had golfs mk1 or mk2 or a mk1 caddy but this is my first Polo, cant believe how much i am liking a wee 1.1 engined car.

Looks like a tidy car, 95,000 too!!! Thumbs up for a great find!!!

nice one this is pretty similar to my bready, or what it used to be like, give a good tidy and run through, mine has 96K on the clock, nice one mate.

Well thats the poor running sorted. Someone had fitted new points but the gap was non existent. I have adjusted the points gap, cleaned out the carb and fitted a new mounting flange thing and its a wee rocket now.

nice color dude.

looks a good project welcome

Welcome, not seen a blue one in that shade before.

These are solid cars, just give it a good service and it will go on forever.

The state of the roads in Edinburgh with all this tram installation madness doesn't make it fun to drive with a lowered car but I'd still lower it lol.

Yours looks like an earlier one which is built in Germany so better build quality than the later Spanish built ones.

Cheers for the welcome,

I work at the bottom of Leith and drive accross from Livingston so well and truely sick of the trams already. This is my new daily commute car so not going too mad with lowering maybe 60/40 at the most.

I didnt know they made polos in spain, take it its after buying seat? This one pretty much drives like a newish car, no rattles, squeaks etc, maybe like a brand new pug or renault :-) rather than a vw
