getting quotes on my mk1 golf with a non standard engine, they want an engineers report, does any one know what this consists of i can get one no problem from garages i know, as i work for a garage my self. but is there a lay out or is it just a sign to say its safe for the road i have searched on google but have not managed to fin any thing

can any one enlighten me

Talk to a local bodyshop as I think some insurance assessors can do this.

oh ok we have a contact with a body work company so i should talk to them, i will try when i go to work tomorrow, so its a laid out report then, kind of tick the boxes

i had to take myself to a garage where there was a qualified tech who recorded reg, vin and engine number on headed paper and signed off then he had to send it off to the dvla to have the car re registered with that engine in.
