I have for sale a Seat / VW 1.4 Manual 5 Speed Gearbox.

Basically the gearbox changes through gears okay not a problem, but whines when in !st Gear. This is a reconditioned box,I paid £500 for this gearbox, it became noisey in 1st gear a year later (no longer covered by the warranty). I couldn't afaud another replacement gearbox as it cost more then the value of my car, car was then scraped and parts sold separately. I had it taken back out by the garage and it’s been sitting in my shed (dry storage) for about 1 year.

I don’t know much about gearboxes, but if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

I’m located in West London, so the winning bidder will have to make an arrangement with me to pick this item up, due to weight.

So grab yourself a bargain as these gearboxes go for a lot and are very difficult to find.

I’ll let the pictures show the condition of the gearbox.

If you look on the top of the bellhousing just above the large plastic plug, there should be a code stamped between the 2 upper bolt holes. It's on the top face which would be underneath the distributor.

i'll have a look tonight, it's got 085 stamped around the differential / drive shaft bell housing if that helps..... ill have another look tonight.

i can't find any other numbers stamped on the box mate?
