Mark 3 Polo

Featured Replies

Make: VW Polo MK3

Model: Parade Coupe 1043CC

Year/Reg:

1994 L Reg

Mileage:

118,600 (the last 100 have been towed miles though with the engine not running)

MOT:

October so 7 months

Tax:

End March so 2 months

Good points:

Great when running (see bad points)

Hardly any rust (see pics for small rust patches)

Tyres good tread and Alloys hardly any scuffs (Just need a clean)

No scratches or dents to any of the panels - would make a good doner car or drop a G40 engine into

Interior is in good condition except small tear on passenger seat (see pics) well its not even a tear its just the seam come undone!

Every thing works as it should eg blowers, lights, mirrors, locks, windows, boot

Boot is clean and empty (I thought it was really big!) and has spare wheel.

New alternator

New battery before christmas

Bad points:

It has a starter motor / alternator problem. It will start if you leave it sat for a few days and then I drive it around the corner to work with blowers/heated windscreen/lights on and when I come out to it at lunch time the battery will be flat. I have had green flag out to it several times and they thought the alternator was not quite right so had the alternator refurbished. Worked ok for a few days and then it was the same problem again. A friend of mine has removed the alarm and rewired the car as well as putting the new battery on (I have the receipt for it) and refurbishing the alternator several times.

Unfortunatly it has not worked and everytime I take it somewhere I usually end up being towed home as the battery is flat.

Paint has begun to peel on the bonnet and in the last week with the cold weather it has accelerated considerably.

Reason for selling:

Another car came up at a bargain price and I thought why not! & I don't have time to fix it

It would be great for some one as a doner due to all the good condition of the panels or would make a great base for a conversion.

If you are interested in the car it would probably need to be towed (I have disconnected the battery at present but I'm confident that if you reconnected it it would start and get you home)

Rust was treated and sealed when I bought it but has come back - this pictures a mixture of dirt and rust - I will clean it up for a better pic

Rust under door has started to also appear in the last month if treated soon then would be caught in the very early stages

How much would you be prepared to pay for the alloys? If I can get some steelies cheap I would sell those seperatly.

The cars great and I love driving it just not got the time to sort it out.

Also please note the pictures though I took them yesterday make the car look blue. It is in fact Carribbean Green.
