UPDATE....

Finally got the finger out and got cracking on with more things.

Day one...

Got the front end off the car and starting dismantling the engine...

PICT0428.jpg

PICT0429-1.jpg

PICT0440-1.jpg

Just need to get a spline tool from a mate to get my driveshafts off, then i'll try and take the engine out completly

Will take me a while as I don't have a clue but should get it done with a bit of luck, and some help from my Dad if he's not being a d*ck.

Mean...

PICT0434.jpg

Day two...

I knew this was going to be a pain in the rectum but it had to be done.

Started attacking the wirring that has been done by the fricken cowboy chav that had the motor before me.

Its a state. So sorted all that out and took it out the car, along with the ecu etc etc. Took me a good few hours.

Also ripped out the heater matrix....

Chucked out the interior trims and rear seatbelts too, as I wont be having rear passengers :p

From this...

PICT0417.jpg

To this...

PICT0430.jpg

Alot tider lol... Only wire that's left is for my boot popper.

Day 3...

Attempted to clean the carpet I got... but its pretty bad. :(

Fitted the Mk5 Heater Matrix... was a ball ache. Got there in the end though :)

PICT0435.jpg

Decided to test fit the Mk5 dash...

PICT0437-1.jpg

PICT0439-1.jpg

It looks quality... makes me happy!!! :D

Although, its only really placed in, no brackets or that holding it up.

Can't really remember where they go... Woops.

It's going to be a real pain fitting it all up right. Not as much has doing the wirring though!

Which will need to get done before its bolted in. :( :wtf:

Lowness...

PICT0441-1.jpg

Cheating FTW :p

Did someone say dice caps make you scene haha...

PICT0346-1.jpg

Awesome car mate....just awesome!

maaaaan in my eyes you can do no wrong, all the wheel choices youve done are pure sex, i feel like i know you.. but dont.. not sure if that sounds weird but anyway its coming on real nice mate, those alpines look the bees knees! good luck with the rest of the project :)

Are you able to git a MK5 steering wheel fitted along with the dash? The MK4 ones look so dated in comparison!

best 6n thread I've seen in a while, i wanted those alpine wheels when i saw them!

keep up the good work man 8-)

Hahaha... Thanks mate.

Wait till you see the Alpines when I'm finished with them ;)

Yeah I could... but there's no point, my Momo wheel will be going back on, but that's on the Golf the now.

Just jammed on the Mk4 one so I can still steer my car :p

had to look at this again.

with the alpines this is my favourite mk4 on here. porn

HOLY THREAD REVIVAL BATMAN!!!

It's been faaar too long since I last updated this thread.

Sadly too all the folks waiting to see it complete...

In the end I never finished the car as it was going to rape me financially an never had the spare time to work on it. So stripped it down to a bare shell and weighed it in. Sad times :-(

Away it went....

315001_10150861238850511_808255510_20769

Although all is not doom and gloom. All the plans I had for that one is still going to happen, just on another car! :-D

Bought myself another wee Polo, making it my 3rd one :p

So here's a quick rundown :)

What it looked like when I bought it...

Valver.jpg

Spew.jpg

Some people may reconise this from here, some may not. It wasn't the nicest looking thing in the world I can tell you that lol... But I seen past the horrible wheels, bad bodywork etc and knew I could make it good again. Needed a lot of TLC  So I done the usual things when you get a new car, give it a complete clean inside and out. Painted the drums and calipers black as they were red!!! :scared: Replaced missing things on it and tidied it up as much as I could.

Cutting a long story short...

- Ordered new set of coilovers

- Sold the wheels and handles

- Smoked headlights indicators, repeaters

- G60 brakes up front

- New windscreen

- Machine polish

= Boooooom...

33697_10150251299540511_808255510_146702

Improved so much already... Just needed the right person :)

Then it was time to attack the engine, gave it a service and tidy/change etc...

- Replaced plugs with some Denso Iridium Power Plugs

- Oil change with Mobil Oil and filter

- Magnecor 8mm HT Leads

- Fitted BMC CDA filter

- Full stainless exhaust system plus decat/hidden tailpipe

61380_10150251637910511_808255510_146790

Then...

- Backseats got removed and replaced with a cage.

- Alpine CD player fitted

- Momo steering wheel

- Audi pedals

- A few 6n2 parts fitted

- etc etc

And how it stands now

More pics...

Went to the Rolling Road day...

Preparation for the rollers, took the bumper off

75029_129736933746020_112510652135315_16

Apparently it was too low, was resting on the subframe so had to raise it...

148415_129737053746008_112510652135315_1

Put it back on and it was still too low :lol:

So I had to raise it again (wound the threads as high up as possible)

After the 3rd attempt it finally got on...

75722_129737410412639_112510652135315_16

Results...

Engine Output : 116bhp

Wheel Output : 80.5bhp

Torque : 109 lbf-ft

Happy with that considering it's 100bhp standard and I still hadn't fitted the chipped ECU :D

Found a rater large hole in my spare wheel well...

P231010_1059.jpg

Got a plate welded in to sort it. Then undersealed it with two coats and used this sound proofing stuff, applied two coats of that too.

P241010_1559.jpg

More to come.....

27032011701.jpg

27032011689.jpg

- Backs undersealed

31032011706.jpg

31032011707.jpg

31032011708.jpg

10042011731-1.jpg

10042011732-1.jpg

09042011727-1.jpg

Gives it a much more modern feel to the car and goes a lot better with my red heater dials and lights switches etc... More 6n2 like

Raised the front some more too for better handling and to stop scrubbing when brapping about.

Got my Fahvergnugen Tuning chipped ECU fittted... Good noticeable difference :-)

Finally got my hands on the seat belts I wanted... Mk5 Polo GTI ones, but the rarer version compared to the bright red ones. These are more subtle and go with my Recaros perfectly! :)

IMG00768-20110702-0945.jpg

Also bought some carbon inner mirror blanks, nice wee touch to the inside of the car...

Preparations for Edition 2011...

Been wanting to clean up and give the engine bay a 'bling' look too it for a while...

So sourced some piping and silicone hoses for my intake pipe...

Finished product :D ....

IMG00961-20110830-1921.jpg

It's a shame there's two shades of purple, couldn't find a dark set to match the coolant pipes.

I'll probably get black ones at a later date to break it up or get a nice whole pipe welded up and polished.

And some Rolling shots and Edition38 snaps...
