Recently went to have cv boot changed and the bloke said there was nothing he could do as both front driveshafts were seized solid into the hubs,,apparently there were absolutley solid and wouldnt budge..

As anyone else had this problem and if so how did you get round it..

Any help would be appreciated guys.

maybe you could keep spraying something like plus-gas into the splines to see if that will unsieze it?

use a 3 leg puller?

drive around with the nuts loosened - should soon get them loose.

i OBVIOUSLY dont mean going down the bypass! go up and down you are street and bumping up curbs etc etc

id just take the 3 bolts out which hold the wishbone on and drop that down. then loosen the main bolt for the driveshaft so its half way out. then give it some with a hammer whilst pullin the hub towards you.... i dont know if thats a bit violent lol but thats how i did one on an 8v...

Copper hammer, and beat living hell out of it with the nut on the threads so you don't burr it over.

batting shit with a hammer is always good.

Got the same problem on my polo, been hitting with a hammer for ages but it wont move!

Copper hammer, and beat living hell out of it with the nut on the threads so you don't burr it over.

Driveshaft nuts are soft as funk! Had a copper hammer on it when i tryed to split the driveshaft from the hub, the nut just burrs over and if your not careful will damage the threads!

Best way is to use a hydrolic puller, used a normal 3 legged puller with a impact gun on it to try and shock it...... No way would it move!

I had the gas bottles on the hub also etc etc
