When are you aiming for it to be on the road?

a love an old bug whats the plans?

i did wright a load of stuff yesterday then my computer crashed .

the bug was my grandads then my dads. we tuck it off the road 3 years ago to have the front panel welded but never finished the job so last week the cover came off and the fun began

the first thing you might note is that many moons ago my dad being a little crazy painted the hole car in hammerite hammer finish (crazy fool) well as it seems this stuff as kept the rot and rust away.

the plan well i want the car back on the road for the summer, getting the big jobs done so all the detail and fun bits can be done when its mot,ed and running.

as i work on cars all day i just want this to be as much fun as pos and sumthing i dont have to spend ages worry about.

because the cars all ready coved in hammerite the plan is to repaint it in the stuff because getting it off is a nightmair and would end up being a fullresto.

so here gos project RATTIE RACER :p

striped all the bits and bobs off and and rubed down for paint.

painted the black on the top half.

wasnt to sure how well it had turned out till i took the masking tape off this morning.

think it look spot on :-D

Nah, seriously, theres an old run down, empty housed street in Openshaw, think that would be cool as hell

Although it looks like you can get a massage off the paint the body looks very straight and healthy.

Good luck with this, nice smaller rear light model. I wouldn't say it's ratty, it just has years of character.

theres a nice graffiti wall on the side of an old garage near the scap yards in openshaw

walshc have you seen the nover loon in this months retro rides mag

I like the graff wall in Irlam theres a pretty sweet skate park near it too :-)

Which mag dude? the one with the blue starlet on the cover? didnt notice a nova loon in there the belgium Kadett is sweet though

painted the lower half silver yesterday and unmasked it this moring.

the masking tape pulled off some of the black in place but is can be touched up.

played around wit a few ideas just need to get some better tape.

on the hunt for some wheels now not to sure what to go for, I'm thinking of slamming her on ATS classics

iv now got new front wing (upright lamp models)

and new front Europa bumper.

so thinking retro race style wheels will work best with these

looking good mate, didn't know you had one of these hiding away, the red pin strip looks nice defo get that done all over and slammed on classics would look schweet imo,

i always think they look amazing with silly silly camber you know you want to

got some mini lite wheel from dubfreeze at a good price :-D :-D

did take some photo's but i cant find my lead. il but some pic up if i get the wings painted and on at weekend

I always appreciate the work that goes into restoring beetles and camper vans etc, because it's obvious it requires alot of time, skill and effort, but... I just hate beetles and camper vans etc. I just think they are really ugly.
