Log Book

Featured Replies

Hey everyone!

Just a quick question about the log book, i am about to buy a 6n valver and the owner has not recieved the log book off of the previous owner.

I have been watin to see the log book for about 4 weeks now.

(Its not the present owners fault i myt add bcoz the previous owner has not sent it off)

The present owner has now had to request a new one from the DVLA and was just wondering how long this normaly takes?

Any help or advice would be awsome!

Thnx

Aaron

2 weeks max usually for a owner change.

however an application with v62 takes a bit longer as they write to the old owner asking if they have sold it on dvla state a month iirc.

if he has the green part you should not need to pay the admin charge

defo worth waiting for the log book... personally i wouldnt buy a car without one

This seems to be quite common these days, i bought my MK3 at the start of November and didn't get a log book (car was bought from a dealer), bought tons of cars over the years and this is the first time i've not had the new V5 through the post, got a V62 from the post office and have the new owner slip just not sent it off yet.

As the previous poster said i doubt i'd buy a car with no V5, if he's sent away for it it's probably best to wait till he get's it .
