Ok I've been told i need a heater resistor to make the heaters work on setting one and two as they only work on setting three in my GT at the moment.

However i have no idea what the resistor looks like. I'm also curious as to whether i should get the whole heater unit that goes under the scuttle tray cover. i ask this becasue when on setting three its ridiculously noisy as thought something is blocked in there. Anyone got any ideas?

on the drivers side of the heater housing there is a plug (mines white) the resistor is the bit left attached to the fan housing. normally the old ones are covered in greenish dust (oxidized copper), if i remember theres 2 screws holding it in place and a wire coming off it.

setting 3 is stupidly noisy on mine and sounds like it going to take off, but isnt blocked, dont think the pipes can cope with the power as if i forget to open the cold air vents while on 3 it blows the pipes

I suppose for a laugh it could be used as an electric supercharger.

Awsome stuff, jsut need to go to a scrappy and find one now haha! i will propablly hardly ever use setting three anyway unless this weather keeps up!

I had 2 scrappy ones, they lasted about 4 months each then paid £28ish to VW for a brand new one. lol
