The wheels are made by performance and are 13/5.5j. Unsure on the ET but i can measure this when i put the car upfor sale. I may sell the car with the option of without wheels so if it sells that way the wheels will become available seperatly to the car.

Fresh years MOT and 6 months tax

Already had a lot of interest in the car before i've even put a sale thread up!

I'll get some snaps tomorrow and get it on the market. Will be very sad to see it go as it is so fun and a very nice looking car IMO.

Very late reply, oops

I do a fair few miles in it and so its a good compromise between power and economy. Its nice not to have to rev too hard to get upto speed.

Anyways, I have been building up a few parts in the background and am getting close to being able to set the car up on standalone management (ms1 v3). The car will come off the road on the 22nd and will be re-loomed, changed from distributor to coilpack ignition (crank triggered), and once it is running as close to perfect as i can get it, turbocharged.

Firmware is now installed and so once the loom is built it is ready for mapping! Many thanks to my friend Steve for guidance with this megasquirt build.

While it is off the road i will experience the joys of my brothers vauxhall corsa (breeze edition )

Progress wont be lightning fast as i have alot of uni work that has to come first but i will keep this thread updated as much as possible.

Thanks for the info, i'll bear it in mind if need be. I'm planning on running stock compression ratio 10:1 and using around 7psi boost pressure. I can then see whats going on and add or subtract more boost from that dependant on how it takes it. Hopefully wont be pulling any bananas out of my engine. The soon to be coil ignition will help with this as it is far more accurate and managable than the hall sender in my distributor.

Aye i've had a look through that, tis useful info. I'll order the parts through work. I have a set of mk1 mx5 coils which will be adequate for my setup (and free!!) I just need to get the ign amp for them which wont be too hard to find. I also need to make up a suitable bracket to house the vr sensor which will retain the same distance from the teeth at all times. I'm yet to decide on a mounting point for this but it could possibly come off the engine mount.

The 36-1 wheel is a reluctor ring (you can see an example in iscariot's thread) this will just allow the ecu to see where TDC is via an inductive pickup. Then the ecu will interpret the signal and know when to fire the coil(s).

Progress! Not yet got on with the M/S as of yet as i got side tracked by a stage 3 subframe that came up for sale and as the polo is now off the road i have plenty of time to do many jobs on the car.

I had a feeling as i drove away with the subframe that my deeper AEE sump may not clear the frame. After offering it up this was confirmed :( So i set about a solution to get clearance in some way. After dropping the sump i almost lost all hope as the oil drive sits very low within the sump as does the pickup. But after some careful measuring with the frame in place it became a viable option to modify the sump.

I have also got brand new track control arms with freshly fitted poly outer bushes. Will fit the rest up tomorrow afternoon if i get chance. Then can get onto the squirt build.

Back on with the gear linkage, exhaust, and the wishbone components. Car is now back on the floor again which is always good! I will get caster and toe set correctly before putting the car back on the road.

I have recently aquired two k03 turbos both in need of repair, but i have a 3rd k03 already with good internals, so i will build one good one from these and then i can start mocking up pipework and getting some more parts :) Hopefully i will have a bit more time next week to make a start on installing the ECU, wideband kit, and fixing the trigger wheel to my crank pulley along with creating a VR sensor bracket.

Made a gauge holding plate today to go in place of the stereo. Just a mock up using 1mm steel. I'll most likely use 2mm aluminium for the real thing.
