Yeh i remember seeing you in the micra lol :p. C/R is staying stock. Boost is staying low. I'll regulate down to a few PSI to start with then when i buy a spare engine i may wind it up a little. I'm not looking for big numbers, just a bit extra with the same engine characteristics. It should go well enough i'd have thought.

Full on win 8-) What sort of power are you hoping for?

  • Author

My initial goal was 130hp, though after already making 90 i may shoot a little higher. All depends on what the engine will take really. As long as it feels quick and is fun to drive, i'll be happy.

Ian.

I look forward to seeing progress then 8-)

Can I have it lol

I'm still gutted I didn't buy the beauty when it was up for sale a year or so ago :-/

I'm glad i didn't sell it! Haha.

Mmm, wish I had a Mk3 loon now, always like them. Be cool to have a fast one of them, very much a sleeper!

It will feel quick and be fun to drive..... for a while :-) Then you get used to it and you will go hunting for more. It's horrible

Probably not if i'm honest mate, very strapped for cash after this conversion and i can get dyno time at work when its quiet.

Thanks Richard :)

Looking awesome

That engine bay looks factory

Nice!

Well its up and running now. Having a few ignition probs through the midrange which I've put down to the ignition system not being powerful enough to jump the gap under pressure. I have gapped some new plugs now to about .55 which has drastically improved things, but i fear my leads, cap and rotor may be a bit worn out anyway so i will renew these too in hope of even better/ perfect running. Its at about .45 bar at present and other than the ignition probs is going very well. Spools up right away amd boosts all the way to the limiter. Its on a very safe ignition map atm, so once i have the misfire knocked on the head i'll get it on the dyno and dial a bit more in.
