6n Front End On 6n2?

Featured Replies

hi there, yesterday i had a bright idea

i've seen a silver gti for sale on here with front end damage.

is it possible to put a 6n front end onto it?

if so, is it easy? has it been done? and maybe some pics if you wanna be kind.

cheers peeps!

that's what i was thinking. i nearly bought a 6n with a 6n2 front end.

i was sexually and mentally confused. lol

whats the point of fitting an older front end?

its different, i havnt seen it done, and whats the point of modding cars in the first place?

i'm not too keen on mk5 front end to be honest. but mk5 rear end is easy. more simple to smooth, number plate recess in bumper.

and you get the newer car. lol

different isn't always good though is it :?

6N to 6N2 i can understand - better lights, smoother looks etc but going the other way seems a bit daft to me. When it comes to selling the car would it not make you think the car was a bit dodgy!?

its all about opinion, if he wants to whip a 6n front on a 6n2, then i say let him. There dosnt have to be a point to it, or a reason behind it apart from him wanting to do it.

i wouldn't think about selling it at the time. i want my dream polo. lol

I agree the 6N front end is a lot better looking than the 6N2 and you would get the newer car like he said but selling could be difficult...

Unless you put the 6N2 front end back on come sale time!

Just be pointless then doing it all together I'm sure if he did it someone would admire the work and by it, but i have to agree i hate the 6n2 shape(front) i prefer the older mk4 but like the 6n2 interior

Might look a bit funny as you'd have the rub strips on the rear bumper, then down the sides, but not rub strips on the front bumper. Now if you smoothed the rear bumper and took them off the side, then it would look OKish.

Its not an easy conversion but I'm sure doable!

Ash has done a 6n2 onto a 6n2 but split the bumper and use the top of the 6n and the bottom of a 6n2

i think with the bumpstrips removed on the car to match the 6n front this would look absolutely brilliant and it doesnt seem like people have done it before so you get double points!
