all you can do mate is ask before you do it, say it doesnt effect the the car in anyway its not chaved up no engine mods see what they say!

Don' declare them, don't crash

Don' declare them, don't crash

x2

Don't declare them.

First time I insured my Golf they told me I could have £1500 worth of visual mods including lowering.

just declare them, insurance wil be invalid and personally i wdnt want the written off car and no compo!

Thats exactly what i was thinking....

I'm defo going to declare them

if i void my insurance my old man will go nuts!

yeh polomon I'm only 17 tho.

cheers for the help guys. i'll have to dig out the number and find out.

is anyone else on here insured with endsleigh?? and has coils??

Quotes will go shit high if u declare...lowest i got with mods declared was £2,000 and fuck that.

Quinn charged me like £20 extra for coilies, I'm 18 on my second year of insurance.

I'm not on coilies, just lowered on springs, and diamond only wanted £20. Its defo worth calling beofre you do the work, at least you know the crack with cost- otherwise if it is too much you end up taking ti all back off again! annoying!

If it is too much, then when you get renewal ring round a few places and you will find someone who will cover you, for a reasonable price hopefully as well!

As for anyone saying not to declare.....

Try not to be totally stupid all your life.

If you wanna save money that way- dont bother with any insurance.

For that matter why tax it. In fact, why buy a car? Go and pinch one with the rest of your mindless goon chav mates.

Dont declare dont crash......

Wind them up if you do crash.....

Are you gonna do that if your in hospital with your neck in plaster?

"I'm sorry doctor, you cant operate, just patch me up and stop the bleeding. i have to go home and change my wheels, take off an air filter and wind my suspension up. Soon as i am done il be back for you to sort me out tho."

Thats the very sort of idiot who gives people with any sort of modified car a bad name.

/end rant

I'm with hic and most mods are free, way i look at it if u can afford to buy the coilovers you can afford to put them on nsurance, if the insurance company find out its been modded and u aint told em your policy is invalid !!!!!

insure all mods lol

I'm with HIC too, cost basically nothing to declare mods, I'm not sure what endsleigh are like though

endsleigh are crap for modified cars!! I've just insured my new 1.6 with adrian flux and endsleigh wanted triple what I'm paying

of all my mods the only ones that cost me anything are the airfilter and exhaust (or lack of...) because they technically add power (lil bit). think they up my insurance by bout £15 lol

like most peeps say, some companies wont charge for non power upping modds...

id say declare them, if your insurance allows, because if you have a crash (doesnt have to be your fault) you wont be covered. so you'll lose the car and could get done for having no insurance. if your insurance says no, then as annoying as it would be, id wait till you renew it and go with someone who says yes.

its a big risk not declaring mods. i didnt declare any my first year, but now its all above board.

If you cant afford the insurane dont mod it... end of

yeh will do mate

might do it tonight.

if not ill get it done at some point and let you know what there asking for.

I found that at 18 nobody would let me have my car lower than 50mm, so just declare them but don't say how low you are going to drop it as they will probably have a fit when you say 100.

If you cant afford the insurane dont mod it... end of

He never said anything about not being able to afford them, why jump to that conclusion straight away? He was just asking for tips on declaring them and what other people do.

I didnt declare mods till my 3rd year, way to much if declared.

Insurers still have to pay out to the 3rd party if you have an accident with undeclared mods unless they can prove that the mods actually caused the accident. You'll get fuck all though.

Therefore... it's only yourself you are cheating if you don't declare.

Therefore... it's only yourself you are cheating if you don't declare.

Unless you hit someone else...

HIC never really askedme how much my car was lowered by, its definitely worth decalring mods even if only for piece of mind!

Unless you hit someone else...

If you hit someone else thats a third party claim, which is what he said they have to pay! you get fuck all tho according tho that :S

I'd say declare, much safer and yeah, peace of mind knowing you wont get raped if you crash
