depened who and what you no.. if you want it fixing on the cheep. like if you can get parts and then get them painted at not to much cost then id say go for it.

but at body shop prices id say it might well be worth geting a new car as prices are low, swaping you are good bits over and then breaking this one to pay for the new one.

also get some one you (trust) to check it out on a gig to make sure nutin is bent.. it may look straight but worth checking.

Well i managed to get the day of work so i thought as it was sunny i would give it a go.

Yea the guys who i borrowed the hydraulic ram off, quoted a rough estimate of £250-£300 painting the bonnet grill surround bumper and blending into the wings. They also gonna repair the scuffs in the bumper. Should be going in next week hopefully alough i do quite like the red bonnet haha

Probably your insurance is right to blame you, the way the cars are damaged shows you going head on into the corner of the other car. Judging by the damage you were traveling faster then them as the car with more energy usually shows more damage.

Is it worth buying any parts for it? Can it really be fixed for a reasonable price?

No being funny but it looks standard except suspension, i would say break the car and buy a new one.

hhmmm i disagree, surely the vaux is in a better condition as it is a 54 plate wich is like a good 6 years older,

in 6 years cars have come along way, an are made to be alot safer than they used to be...

surely this is a big factor, as they both still smashed at the same combined speed,

good work fixing it tho, makes it abit more bearable :)

Yea i didnt have tome today to realign all the panels so probably not gonna do that untill saturday

I did it all myself. I done 2yrs body repair at college lol

No it didnt, i was wondering if it should have as the car i hit all airbags went off.

why would you pay an excess if you repaired it yourself?? you dont pay an excess for someone claiming from you its only an excess for claiming on your own insurance for repairs or theft.. so in the event of you repairing your car yourself and "not claiming" you should not pay any excess... Even if someone else claims off your insurance.

^^ Good point, but i think some insurers have a small excess even if you are 3rd party/fire and theft

Fair play doing all the work yourself, most people would have scrapped the car. Shame about the insurance they did the same thing to me :(, I was reversing into a car parking space n a chav in a 5 door 306 drove over the spaces chasing after another car n i reversed straight into the side off him, the lad told me he had claimed 6 times before n was payin £2800 on a P reg 5 door 306 lol. Luckily for me my dad is a panel beater n I'm paint spraying apprentice so comes in handy lol.

and i also had a fault accident where i didnt claim for my own damage other person did, no excess, still affects your no claims though
