Insurance

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm 16 at the moment and when I turn 17 I was looking at getting a 1.0L MK5 Polo.

The cheapest insurance quote so far has been £1,800 third party fire and theft which is still quite expensive. This is with no mods declared.

I wondered if anyone could point me in to the right direction of a insurance company that could help me even more?

Thanks in advance.

Dominic.

When i got my 6n2 i had been driving for 8 months before i got it (I'm 20). Adrian Flux quoted me something like £800 (inc Breakdown cover) for 3rd party fire and theft. I cant imagine it been much more then that for you

Moneysupermarket.com is a good site it checks loads for you when i was 18 insuring my first car (21 now) my insurance was only £668 on my mk3 1.4 golf third party with a £150 excess so £1800 is a joke.

Dominic,

I Insured my car (1.0L mk5) for £1300 when i turned 18.

I searched on gocompare at the time and got insured with ecar on 3rd party fire and theft.

I'm up for renewal now and they gave me a price of 840 with a ncb included.

i've been doing some searching today and the best quote i got was £790 from a company called crowthorne who you can find on the internet.

Hope that helps

Zub

the car is a 2000 6n2 1.4. second year driving, had a bump (my fault) last year and new quote with SWINTONS is £1700 and courtesey car, and all the nifty little covers like windscreen.

i rang loads and loads but that was the only place really who had the best deal and cheepest.

my first year insurance cos me £1000 with a tracker thing through motaquote but for renewal + bump .......£2300 i told them where to stick it.

:)

also forgot to add that whatever the Internet quotes give them a ring and they garantee to beat it!

they are fucking idiots

I'm 18 now but i was 17 when i passed and iv got a 1.4 8v se mck4 and I'm paying 1600 wive tesco hope that helps mate

I've got the same problem as you mate, getting a 1.0 polo, cheapest insurance was with Quinn, £1544 tpf&t! And also, why cant i just get TPO insurance?
