Bump

Prices are not set for a mod.. And some insurance companies dont charge.. I dont get charged for my mods anymore, as long as my BHP doesn't go up more than a set limit...

And yes you need to declare anything that it didn't have when it came out the factory..

My advice is to ring the insurance and say "oh I'm thinking of doing this" how much?? etc

Cheers t700bes it seems slot of folk don't pay for non performance enhancing mods but secretly we all no a debadged grill add 200bhp! LOL ;)

tbh i haven't declared mine

alloys

lowered

new lights all round

my exuse would be i bought it like that if i were found out

insurance companies arnt thick lol, say that or not they still wont pay out if undeclared!

my insurance said anything not perfromcance enhancing doesn't have to be declared but charged me £7.50 a month to declare my coilovers which is hardly much is it so thats ok, just ring them up n ask thats the best way.

cheers guys quality advice, i know it sounds obvious to ring n check but i never thought of that lol, its my first policy and I'm 21 and fully comp with express insurance, i will have a gander thru my paper work and ring them etc and maybe one day we can generate a list of insurers etc that dont charge for have a more astetically pleasing polo!!

if it helps at all m8 my insurance is quinn direct they're really good if you can uderstand some of what the girls on the phone say.lol

Well...rang my insurance company they checked and they don't do any kind of mods not even alloys! Sh1t or what, I knew there must have been a reason y they were so cheap!!! LOL

Should have thought about that when taking out the insurance. As your 21 you could have used Adrian Flux or Brentarce who dont care about cosmetic/brakes/suspension mods and with Brentarce i just have to stay under 170bhp on my Golf.

Yeah but at the time I din't care coz it was my corsa n then I changed my car To the polo might look into some one else what I don't get is that they have given me 1000 quid of audio and in car ent. cover but no other mods

guess you will just have to buy the mods, and wait til you renew to fit them.
