your central locking will be the same as the 8v. I bought a kit off rclick.co.uk

It plugs straight into the central locking pump, no playing around with cables or anything (unless you want indicators to flash when you lock/unlock, and thats even just a five min job)

You get two vw style flip keys. You will need to put your imobiliser chip into the new key.

What i done was go to key cut place and get a copy of your original vw key. They will copy the chip too, and will cost about £25. Its easier to take the chip out the copy key than your original vw key (usually a reb bit you can pull out of the key and remove the chip.

The rclick keys can be opened up and you pop your chip into the new key. Job done.

I also managed to get the flip key cut for free at my local key cut place cos i brought my own key and didnt need a chip done.

thx alot brof ,tryin to find the chip on my key now,

and will find that rclick corp

again,

what is the "reb bit

" ? cant really find it

if you have the standard vw key, the chip will be sealed inside.

The red tab is on a copied key.

Get a key copied at sainsburys or somewhere, and the chip will be somewhere in the key (you can probably ask them where it is)

If not they might copy the chip for you and sell you just the chip.

Otherwise- hacksaw.

How easy is fitting this rclick central locking kit to a 1.0 8v ??

Cheers

do you have central locking? if you do its just the same, all 6n's have the same central locking pump in the boot. The kit just plugs striaght in.

If you dont have central locking, rclick do a central locking and remote kit, but that will be a bit more complicated as you will need to fit the solinoids to each lock and wire it all into the car for power etc.

No I dont have central locking but it would be very useful !

Would you recommend this kit to a beginner? (with a brain)

bought the remote keyless kit from the rclick

and how to plug it into the boot ?or fuss or maybe under the bonnet?for simple use i don't need the indicated flash

thx for you are respond brof

tryin to find where is wire going to on my valver

is it in the right hand side in the boot?

?

yeah its in the foam bit where the first aid kit goes in your boot.

Naps07- If you got the kit with the harness it will plug straight into central locking pump.... if you got the kit without the harness you will need to wire it into the harness, again i would say easiest job is in the boot- all the cables are visible as they go into the pump and you have a bit of space to store them in the little space where first aid kit goes.

in the rclick manual the remote kit does need black and red two wire for the power supply

so is it should be connecting to the battery?

sorry, but the mental image of that is quite amusing!

I cannot say for sure if the chip can be removed from the factory vw key to be honest. I took the chip out of a copied key, so would recommend getting the key copied (will cost about £20) and removing the chip from the copied key. It should be a lot easier to! sorry if it is a bit late to be saying that like.

yeah, car wont start without the chip like
