Liz: you should try the M4 at port talbot then, you can drive that at night without your lights on as the cats eyes light up, think they turn blue in cold and flash in fog.

ye that motorway is really good in the dark, some stupid people come flying down there at 110+ mph with their full beam on constantly though

UNLIT i dont see the point , they dont light up cuntry lanes , and if you need lights on a wide flat non bendy road , lights on a road is only for pedestrians to see the dog sh*t their trying to miss . and cars have lights attached to them so you can see where your going , i have to agree that the lights on mk2`s are rubbish but still quite fine for ripping down a back lane .

ah also i hate hids their to bright to see if anythings coming the other way when back lane thrashing

Un-lit. And with those fancy brilliance bulbs in,my MK2's dipped head lamps are perfectly adequate for any road.

Motorways have a central reservation with barriers which block out most of the headlights of on-coming traffic anyway.

And with us motorists being clawed by the authorities on the environmental issue,they have a bloody cheek burning the nuclear to such a degree just to light up a road.

Pretty sure the home office haven't approved any speed measuring equipment that works from a moving vehicle unless it's speed matching the vehicle it's following. Which seeing as traffic wombles can't claim an excemption isn't going to work.

Definately Lit, I don't mind A-roads being unlit, but narrow country lanes that aren't wide enough for two cars, things get interesting when something comes towards you at speed.

OH so its you is it? Blinding me all the time. I just dont get why the hell headlights have to be so bright. Modern cars should have an intermidiate light setting for lit town driving at night because the headlights are just too powerful now.

I never have a problem seeing on old headlamps. If you need fancey lights then try the opticians first.

I don't find my headlights too bright at all, but then again, I have them properly adjusted. If you find things a bit too bright in this modern world, perhaps you're getting a little old and should take public transport if you don't feel comfortable driving any more.

The most annoying one I find is where the fool has mis fitted their headlight bulb and it's pointing in the complete wrong place... or if it's bouncing about all over.

Try it at 3AM in the morning and just switch off your lights, it looks brilliant as you see all the eyes light up into the distance (further than headlights can), another use is that it scares the shit out of annoying passengers. 90+ and you just causally switch off your light, pmsl.

Any idea where i can get these? i've been wanting 4 for each spotlight cos theyr only 55w atm which is good but 100 watt would be melt-tastic! they run off a relay too wired to the main beam so they come on and off with it, or i can chose not to have them with a cutoff switch :)

I know the hardcore answer is unlit but given the choice I'd say lit. Not because I can't see in front, but changing lanes in busy traffic is a bit shit unlit. Especially when people have a headlight out and look like a motorbike.
