This car was registerd in 1987 and is a high spec model in Monza Blue with fully functional factory fitted electric windows and central locking.

This is an early model retaining original features including split screen windows, early 6 slat grill with a thin red line, original 16v GTI badge and redline bumpers. The car has Pirelli P slot alloys which are in reasonable condition with Avon tyres which have done few miles. The car has standard suspension which was fitted just after I bought the car and a tow bar.

The interior is in good condition for its age with the usual drivers side bolster wear. Oil pressure and temperature gauges have been retro fitted into the central console. The car also has a manual coolant fan so you don’t need to worry about any temperature sensors failing and allowing your engine to overheat!

The exterior is in excellent condition, as it has had a high quality professional full external respray (costing 2000 pounds) last December in the original colour which means that it has no scratches, dents and rust spots so the usual areas for rust like arches, the filler cap area etc are totally rust free. The underside has also been coated with underbody sealant. The front windscreen was also replaced at the same time.

The engine runs very well (usual steady operating oil temp of 95°C) and has an unusually good idle for its type. I have recently taken it on an 8 hour trip (which included motorways) and it ran extremely well, with no problems whatsoever.

Over the last 18 months it has had new pads and discs, new rear calipers, new polyurethane bushes on rear suspension, new handbrake cable, reconditioned rear wiper mech, reconditioned starter motor, new windscreen washer bottle, new windscreen, 4 new bosch injectors with seals, k-jet system overhaul and sporty panel filter. The car has also been regularly serviced throughout my ownership of the car and throughout its history as shown by the large pile of receipts etc that comes with the car’s history.

This is a reluctant sale as unfortunately I am forced to sell one of my cars. The car is listed at a price of 1400 but I am open to reasonable offers.

This is an excellent example of an early 16v model. Monza blue was a limited edition colour that only ran 1987-1988. Would you be interested in a p/x for an oak green 16v 1991 plus cash your way? Please PM me.

I've had lot's of interest on eBay, but no one has actually viewed the car!

I've dropped the price in the hope someone will want to visit, have a drive in it, or even perhaps buy it!
