Yesterday i was driving down a local country lane on the way back from work, i was coming up to an uphill straight when i noticed a car right up my arse.

I sped up to about 75 to see what he did and the t**t decided he'd overtake coming up to the brow of the hill. as he came up the side of me i noticed that a car was coming over the hill so i had to slam my brakes on to let him in. I gave him a bit of abuse by flashing my lights.

He then put on his hazards slammed on his brakes so i nearly went into the back of him, he then got out of the car and came towards me with a plank of wood in his hand! The bloke was huge about 6 foot 3 and the same wide. I thought about driving off but decided against that as that would of pissed him off even more. He then starts swearing and shouting at me and threatening to smash my car up. I explained that he nearly got killed and nearly killed someone else which wound him up even more. I had a female colleague in my car who was scared shitless, as was I!!! I decided the best thing to was to apologise and hope he'd calm down. After a bit more swearing from him he sped off.

I thought about calling the police but my car is quite distinguishable and i like it in the shape its in.

Just a warning really to people in Derby. Don't flash your light's at meatheads in 307s!

You should of threatened to call the police and if he came towards you run him over! What a bellend though.

I thought about driving off but knew his car was faster than mine and that when he did catch up i'd be stuffed.

Driving at him went through my head aswell but thought against that one.

just take him on a wild goose chase then park up right in the middle of town...pretty sure he wouldnt have got out then.

sorry to say it but you shouldn`t have sped up and just let him past, or lost him completly

the guy sounds like a plank, but my advise to you is your far better off just letting it go. thing is you dont know whose in the other car. for all you know they could be mental and do something crazy and you end up in hospital or worse.

I had a similar experience years ago when i had only been driving a short while. a guy cut me up, i flashed my lights, he got out and was significantly bigger than me, so i locked the car, pressed the gas pedal and aimed polo at said blokey (didnt hit him btw!)

after that i soon realised its just not worth getting upset about

I'm with the other guys here- if someone speeds up behind me il let them pass as soon as it is safe to. either slow down on a straight, or even pull over.

Let them wrap themselves around a lamp post further down the road.

And whatever you do, dont flash at them.

They have over taken you.

You will likely never have anything to do with them again for the rest of your life.

At the very very best, flashing will do absolutely nothing at all.

At the worst you will be left in a pool of your own blood at the side of the road.

I'm not excusing them, they are complete jerks, and in the past i have given a two finger salute to them, and had exactly the same happen to me as you have said above. Its just not worth it tho!

i had a similar thing with a crap driver, he forced me into the centre pavement type thing, i was pissed, chased after him, got his reg, and phoned police, they log it, and if any feds see the car they will pull him over and have a word

i know that means sod all, but it made me feel better thinking something might have been done, you never know it might draw attention to him and police see him doing his crazy driving

end of day you never know who is driving the other car, mass murderer, mentalist, gunned up blinger

I get peed off with people flashing when i have overtaken them in an OK place and given plenty of time to move back in, its like a kneejerk reaction from some people to flash. I quite happyly slow down to a slower speed to slow them down and when i get bored or they try and overtake i floor it and put my hazzards on.

up the road from me it goes from a 30 to a 60. i was on the gas getting the speed up and some prick pulls out right in front of me causing me to slam on the brakes or i woulda been into him. i banged my horn at him (agression) and then flash my lights once i get sorted and he proceeds to slam the brakes on right in front of me causing me yet again to slam mine on and then he drives off.

needless to say he drove at 45 the whole way through the 60 and i couldn't overtake as there wasn't enough room. i think i need to calm down....

same thing happend to me, the guy cut me up badly so just naturally I stuck ma finga up at him, then he stops on front of me and comes out with a spanner! i just drove off quick as i can and left him standing there.

the wost thing about it was he had a baby in the car?!?!!? does he really want to risk having an accident with his baby in the car?!

best thing to do is just let it go. don't make the situation worse then it is, no one will help you and cops dont really give a sh*t anyways

man I've lost count at the amount of drivers who have stopped there cars to shout at me for flashing them , lorry drivers, several dicks in derby, people on motorways dual carrigeways, country lanes. people often overtake me and i flash them, the amount of times people have slammed thier anchors on or stopped and got out the car!

most times i just lcok the door crack the window open a bit and sit there with a fuck off breaker bar by the passenger seat having a small chat with the person, most times I'm able to calm them down and then stomp off into thier car.

I've tend to slam my anchors on alot of people who really sit on my arse, and have been known to overtake vehicles who cut me up when overtaking, so ill overtake them slam my anchors on and slow down to a crawl. I've done the weave thing to piss them off for a bit then let em past!

the worst road rage i ever had was some prick who undertook my sister and nearly twatted a cyclist, i got out my sisters car, went up to his window shouted at him he would even acknowledge me so i punched his window and put a fuck off dent in his rear 1/4 with my foot, then got back into my sisters car.

she was really annoyed id done that to be honest and was quite scared but it made me feel better.

i can very easily lose my rag, but honestly I'm sure people aim to piss me off, i get blocked in in car parks, people pull out infront of me, or when overtaking me at speed pull into my lane so quickly and just literally miss my wing, had plently of people drive into me in general driving, pulling out in front of me when I'm tanking it on the outside lane but doing 70-75

the ugy in derby had a green 406 and i thought he was actually going to kill me hahaha he was hench, plus i fully nearly went into the back of his as the deuchebag didnt realise my cars got poop brakes compared to new cars

if someone sat up my ass in a single lane 30 / 40 area I would purposely brake too. that does my dead in.

if someone sat up my ass on a motorway / dual carriage way and i was in the fast lane - I'd move over.

why can't others grasp the same idea instead of blocking me in?

AND I HATE woman drivers. when i was on my R's in the gt on the motorway in the slow lane some stupid f'in woman in a BMW came up behing me and flashed me when i was going about 50. she had about another 5 lanes to choose from. I'm trying to be as legal as I can and she gets on like that. Would she perhaps have preferred I move over into the fast lane and block in others so she can continue on - I don't think so! She got a few hand gestures.
