Hi Guys.The vr6 and 1.8t into a 6n is now old stuff.Has anyone heard of someone doing a 4.2 v8 audi ?

iv never heard of that conversion being done but i must say i would love to see it!

never actually got finished though, although I believe it did get to the point where it ran.

you would probably need to build a firewall into it behind the seats for it to be road legal anyway I'd have thought. I'm just guessing there but I certainly wouldn't want an engine right next to my head with nothing protecting me.

that would surely handle like the golf w12 with all that weight and power at the back of a light car?

dunno, the engine is fairly central there. If they had some weight up front such as fuel tank and what not it shouldn't be too bad. Not /that/ much different to the Ian Birch rear engined 20vt one. I know the v8 will be heavier but still...

Anyway, who cares? It's a 4.2l V8 in the back of a mk2 polo, it doesn't need to handle perfectly.

from the luks of that subframe, it luks almost dun jus need drive shafts and some ova bits, n ud jus have to drive it slow round corners and kill it on the straights!
