My Mum and Dad bought me my first car yesterday, Mk3 Polo Genesis 1.0. Quite a good buy for £270

Didn't want to follow the crowd with the saxos, corsas, fiestas, clios etc. wanted something different.

Everything standard at the moment, but future plans (when money allows) include:

- Lowering, not sure how much yet, either 40/40 or 60/40

- New Rims, thinking about Golf G60 Steels

- Put the red strip through the bumpers

- Arches

- Plus various other bits n bobs

All this after the obvious work that needs doing, like respraying the bonnet and rear right wheel arch.

After a clean today:

Little bit of an update, image to show how the wheels look on the car. Still gotta rub them down and repaint them yet before they go on for definate. Also putting 185/50/14 tyres instead of the 185/60/14's on there at the moment.

Got the pinstripe through the bumper now, bit of extra styling

- New Rims, thinking about Golf G60 Steels Gone for 14" Mk3 Golf Steels, similar to the G60 steels just an inch smaller, i think they look just as good.

- Put the red strip through the bumpers

nice one mate.

boot catch is broke!!! rear axles twisted slightly put positive camber on the left rear, thinking of a whole new colour, bucketseats, harnesses, roll cage was thinking of but not sure about that one yet. lowering it prob 70/80 because ill have no weight in the back so would prob sit right height then.

might drop a gt engine and box in but depends on funds

what else you thinking of doing to it then??

i'd leave it white if i were you, i seen some white ones on here look proper smart. not worth spending all that money on an unneccessary respray when you could put the money into something else for the car ay :p

thats a good point.

what wheels you thinking of getting for it then??

thats a good point.

what wheels you thinking of getting for it then??

good idea to stop using the quotes for that, haha

and i wanted to get golf g60 steels, but they're 15" and i reckon that'd probablyy be too big after lowering it 40mm.

i've seen a GT with the same style wheels but 14", but I'm not sure which wheels they are. it said mk3 golf steels but found nothing to back that up.

Sayign that 15's are too big for a 40/40 drop is silly, they'll be fine! i was running 15's on my old polo wich was 70/70 and they only just rubbed! lol

To be fair, i love this colour blue. alot of people dont like it, Mine didnt look far off what you have now and i did this to it!!!!!

ooo, yeah they're nice. was it on 15's with the stripped out interior then? so i take it you didnt have passengers in the back? haha thats why I'm debating the 15's with that drop.

i think i seen your car on here before  its nice,

is that dropped 70/70 in those pictures? and what size wheels is on it there?

this is the sort of things i wanna do to my car

there 13's with stretched tyres i think not sure

Nice Vw's; I've just bought a Polo Coupe Cl 1.3.

£450; alloys first then lowering it. Same idea's as you really.

G60 steelies.

What sort of lowering kit you going for? Full set with new shocks or just springs?

I've just replaced the front shocks as they were alittle spent.

But now, the dreaded petrol leak. :/
