Featured Replies

just found out my mate from work went to a party on thursday night, and got drunk, the persons party it was didnt want people staying in the house so my freind slept in his car, and put the keys in the igintion,

next a copper knocked on his window and he didnet wake up so they opened the door and dragged him out , and he resisted arrest , so they pinned him to the ground and handcuffed him , and took him to the hosiptial for more tests,

when they breatalised him he was 3 times over the limit,

he looks really beaten up with cuts to his head grazes on his shoulder ect from where the poilce pushed him to the ground ect, i think he should make a complaint about the way he was treated? what do u think ?

he has been told its likley he will loose his licence , so does anyone know how long he would loose it for the the maxium fine you can get for it,

cheers

1st: What an silly boy putting his keys in the ignition!

2nd: If he resisted arrest he cant complain about being pinned down can he??

just been talking to my sisters chap about him being done for this, he tried to sleep in the car old bill done him for that, he got out of the police station and was told by the arresting officer to move his car or it will get towed and crushed, as soon as he pulled off another police car pulled him and did him for being slightly ove the limit. he got 3 years for the first one and a year for the second, your mate is screwed, sorry.

sucks ass but the police need easy arrests i'm afraid :(

yea but wouldent you reist if u were really drunk and someone is pulling you out the car?

A Policemen is not a someone tbf. You said "They" so multiple policemen are quite obvious even when drunk.

EDIT: As the keys were in the ignition he is fucked. If he complains its only going to be worse when it gets to court.

ture ture , i wasnt there so dont know just goint by what i have been told !

The keys shouldn't be anywhere inside the car if my memory serves me correctly...

there's nothing he can do really....

isit illegal to sleep in your car :? i've done it shit loads of times

keys in ignition or anywere within reach of him, hes fucked I'm afraid sunshine

resisting arrest = hes not got a leg to stand on regarding the bruises

Fuck sleeping in the car when you're 6'6, but when needs must.

If he was on the driveway he would have been ok i think....? But if on the road....

staying so my freind slept in his car, and put the keys in the igintion

Same kind of thing happened to a guy at my old work except his ex-wife called the cops because had a

a few and they started fighting. So he left the house and went and sat it the car and put the radio on to

calm down a bit...15 mins later the cops turned up and got him out of the car, breathalysed him and

took him straight down the cop shop when he failed the test.Spent the night in the cells and when the

case came up in court....lost his license for a year and landed a £750 fine.

I said to him he will probs loose his licence , does any one know whats the minium time you could lose it for and the maxium time and max fine?

Min is 9mths doing a course, most get 12mths, i think the max is 2yrs. Max fine iirc is 2.5k, its based on how far above the limit you are and your earnings

...and then you have the hassle of the DUI on your license and trying to get car insurance.

If your mate is under 25 some insurance company's won't even look at him mate.

Sorry but no chance of making a complaint after that.

Last time me and mate slept in a car drunk, we popped the bonnet and put the keys under the bonnet...

Bunch of faggots.

harsh days... could have been worse though

Bunch of faggots.

wtf?

Bunch of faggots.

Useful input to say the least.

To be fair, lessons are learnt, never put your keys in the ignition!

Besides, sleeping in the car? what was wrong with the garden?

Bunch of faggots.

Don't have them inside the car at all if boozed up

The police are a bunch of faggots. Who do they think they are to dictate? I pay their wages and they do my brother over for no reason. I've got a serious problem with them.

TBH if someone grabbed me and dragged me out of a car half asleep i think i would resist as well, its a natural reaction.

last time i had to do this was staying at a mates for a party and got fedup with him and his GF arguing, staggered out to my car got in lifted up the parcel shelf and threw my keys into my boot, with the amount of crap in my boot it took me and hour to find them sober next afternoon, god knows how long if i tried it drunk.

At least he kept his license but the insurance will be sky high from now on.

you can't sleep in the car!!???? wtf!!!

He will loose his licence and it is likley to be 18 months. Depending on age he may have to re take his test. Bottom line is that even if he had left in the morning he may have been over the limit. A colleague at work lost his licence over christmas following an argument with his partner, not only did he lose his licence but he was also dismissed from his job as his role invovled being an essential car user (this was not a £15k job but over £25k per year), further to this he was going back to university in the summer to do has masters but his application is now being re considered due this conviction.

Cars - and drink absolute zero tolerance to it, have no idea why people do it, even those that just have 1 pint. In defence of the police they are only protecting society.
