Check all fluid levels and tyre pressures, these are things that should be done but won't increase performance.

New dizzy cap and rotor arm aswell

Pretty much cosmetic tbh

I've got them on mine, haven't noticed any difference really, they just look nice

Edit - By the way, start filling up with V Power asap. And maybe replace or clean your air filter.

oh really, they have a 10 year guarantee though. so you can keep replacing they for free right?

haha v power.

get air filter cleaner if its cotton/foam, if its paper, get a foam pannel.

also do H/G if you are capable and your car hasnt had one... same goes with belts.

Not much point in changing a head gasket till it shows signs of failing IMO

do i mix that in with the petrol or the oil. maybe both for good measure!

Ha dont fix it, if it isn't broke!

Just do a full service and check the timing

Couldn't have put it better myself

Why would you need to put new parts in your car that are already working just for an RR day :retard: unless you can afford to shit money or it actually needs a new part, then yeah, don't fix what isn't broken I say! Just give it a wee service

why change it after the damages is done and the head is warped?

i never understand that... matt does his a precaution and hasnt had one fail on a car yet...

The heads dont just warp and die! Its pretty obvious when that is going to happen as the temp gauge will be off the scale. My first polos head gasket was shot and it never once overheated, just used water and oil.

The head will only warp if you keep driving it and its running very hot.

she does need a service. i was told to do it when i got it never had the money to, now i do so shes getting a treat.

i checked the timing today day and the timing mark was quite retarded. i thought the ecu did it all its self.

where should the timing mark be?

thanks

jack

The ECU advances the timing but it has to be right to start with other wise it will advance too much.

Theres a guide on here by minis84 on how to do the ignition timing.

Volkswagen dealer. ATM their prices compete with GSF and sometimes they are lower!! The might offer you a selection of leads too.
