After wanting one since I was about 10 years old I have finally managed to afford myself a TVR Chimaera.

Its a 4.0 V8 which produces 240bhp and will drag its arse from 0-60mph in just under 5 seconds going on to a top speed of just over 150mph! All that and no power steering, ABS or traction control!

Its a 1995/L and its only done just over 40,000 miles. It has full TVR service history and every MOT from new.

I'm picking it up this sunday, so let the fun begin.

Rin I totally agree with you on the interior. Its bloody disgusting! As soon as I have saved up a little more money I will be getting it re-trimmed in something a little more pleasing to the eye lol.

I cannot wait to pick it up. Just gotta insure it and away I go.

You can pick up a ropey one for about 5k nowdays! Its the running costs that are a killer though. My insurance is costing me just over a grand and i'm 23 with 4 years NCB.

Hehe you say that but the engines are so torquey that they hardly rev at all so 20-25mpg is easily possible. Which compared to the 18mpg my Evo did and the 12-15mpg my F150 did is bloody brilliant lol. Plus it will only be used as a weekend car as I have a company car aswell.

You never seem to have anything constructive to say do you Tav? I am stupidly excited about getting this car as its something I have wanted for years. I couldnt give a fuck whether it has 240bhp or not. I've not bought it to go balls out racing all day every day. So from now on how about if someone seems like they are looking forward to getting something dont sit there and slate what there getting. Be happy for them.

As for everything else, 290lbs/ft torque is what makes it fast! Of course it weighing almost exactly a ton tends to help aswell! My F150 was 5.8 V8 and only had 240bhp.

As for being all over the place theres very little chance of that happening as once the door is shut there is nowhere for you to slide to!
