Bought Myself A New Car Today!

Featured Replies

Very nice man, although you probably won't get to have the roof down in british summer haha. Is it me or do the pedals look extremely far apart? Anyway, have fun with it!

4.0 V8 and 240bhp? Fail!

Just as well it doesn't have any more power, you'd be all over the shop in those seats.

Dickhead.

its good to see the credit cruch isn't affecting some people lol but seriously mate nice car

I like it, i dont like the newer ones though. If it dosent have back lights off an old ford its no TVR that i would want! lol

Well I've got it. On the drive to get it the weather was warm and sunny with no clouds in the sky. I pick it up and drive for 20 mins and it starts to piss it down! Bloody typical isnt it. Although while it was still dry I did open it up a couple of times. MY GOD!!! It shifts is all I can say! And the noise is brilliant. I got onto a nice stretch of dual carraigeway and just booted it in 2nd past by brother. When we got home I asked him how loud it was from his car. He just grinned at me and said "pretty loud".

Nice to hear your happy with your purchase mate, TVR's usually sound the muts nuts, i know what you mean with the weather, its been absolutly pissing it down here also the poor Polo's all dirty :(

Looking forward to the piccys once the weathers sorted it self out. 8-)

whats the plans? slam it on euro dish wheels?

looks and sounds awesome as it is, get some pics up with anything you do!

Bit jealous are we?

^^

yup me thinks.............

PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICS

KAM ON!

Super sexy car. Old TVRs are amazing. The sound!

My dad looked after one when i was younger. Awsome speed, awsome sound.

Was a bit of a bugger to maintain as it constantly drained its battery if you didn't drive it every week. But that one was probably a dog.

Yours looks nice! I like the interior; its a TVR, its never going to be anything normal like black!

Enjoy mate, i'm sure you will!

EDIT: oh and how is the gearbox and clutch? Those things are notoriously hard to drive arn't they? Once you get it its worth it though i'm sure

The clutch is incredibly heavy! I sat in traffic for almost an hour on my way to work yesterday and i thought my left leg was going to drop off. When I finally got to work i nearly fell over when I got out of the car.

Apart from that its brilliant. The noise it makes is great and it shifts too hehe.

Ok I finally got a chance to clean it today. Me and my mate spent almost 7 hours clay baring, polishingm waxing hoovering etc etc. I think it was well worth it though.

dont think its jealousy to be honest , i would say the same that 240 hp from a 4.0 aint alot , you get that in leon cupra r`s .

240 bhp from a pushrod 2 valve 4.0 V8 isn't bad going at all especially as they really don't like anything past 6k rpm, and certainly don't need it. If a Discovery with the 4.0 V8 can pull 5th from 10 mph without bogging down then you won't need to be changing gear in the TVR much!

And Leon Cupra Rs do have forced induction + 5 valves per cylinder on their side!

Hmmmmm! i live in epsom to I'm coming to steal it  Really nice car mate hope to see you around and hear it to :D Might get a ride in my dreams  Has the headgasket been done as all TVR are a bit tempremental on those but aswesome car mate nice to see a big step from a polo to a supercar :D Well done. You should come down brighton saturaday if your free :D

i`m not getting in an argument mate , all i`m saying is that aint alot of power for sometnihg so big , it probably has loads more torque . i just find its a bit disapointing when you look at the on paper stats and thats all they wanted from it , that engine has loads of potential , i know my old man had a 400bhp rover v8 .

i only compared to a leon as it has the same hp , to give an example .

TVR Griffiths are my DREAM car, guess a Chimmy is close enough!
