Vw Golf Rallye G60 1989

Featured Replies

Make:

Volkswagon

Model:

Golf G60 Rallye

Year/Reg:

1989 G

Mileage:

175,000KM = 108,000 miles (not bad for a 20year old car!

MOT:

November 2009

Tax:

march 2009 - but will add 6months

Good points:

Stage 4 Supercharger (jabba) makes a lovely whistle on gear change!

Stainless exhaust with decat but i have an original catalitic convertor to put on the car as i think its a little to loud

Metallic blue paint, flips to purple in the sunlight - original paint.

Good points:

Half Leather "rallye" interior - not rips or tears and in good condition - recently professionally cleaned front and rear.

4wd - lots of grip!! was great fun in the snow, and i know it definetely works as all 4 wheels would spin on my icy street!

New stainless exhaust recently

comes with 5ltr of synta silver, G12 coolant. this is because i have a mk1 golf oil cooler outlet to be fitted (built in

thermostat) and a large oil cooler. haven't had chance to fit these yet so are included (£100+)

German pressed plates included but i will not fit as they are show plates.

Original Suspension - not lowered

Original Sebring alloys but painted black - good tyres all round

Cat 1 Toad ai606 alarm with certifcate

Ipod CD radio (kenwood - control ipod through stereo)

Bad points:

ABS works but the lights on - i have had some sensors replaced but everyone knows that its poop anyway!

Coolant light flashes sometimes - even though there is a pefect amounbt of coolant in the reservoir! there is history of this

problem in the service documents and hundreds have been spent trying to find the fault. i have come to the conclusion it may be

the actual dials itself which may have the fault. never bothered me as it never loses coolant- so why it flashs is a mystery- i

have a new coolant reservoir included and this may fix the faultt

there is a dent in the front wing which was done by a previous owner long before myself.

the wing on the other side has a laquar line where the side strip was removed (you wouldnt see this is you put them back on

(strips included with car)) quoted just over £100 to fix these at a bodywork garage.

Sill on drivers side (n/s) has a little scab by the join and I'm aware that these are common - its not bad and is an easy repair -

the other side is perfect (not common hahaha)

oil around gearbox - haven't looked what this is yet but its not from the engine, and may just hav been overfilled when it was last

done.

Documents:

I have a very large folder which so much stuff in, i shall put a photo up of it tonight.

Supercharger has been rebuilt - cant remember when but it probibly could do with a check up now - Car price reflects this

it holds boost very well ;) and the timing belt on the charger is in good condition (no cracking, it is the wider belt)

Location:

Bedworth - Coventry

Junction 3 of m6 motorway and only a 5minute drive from the "ricoh Arena"

Pictures:

Price:

£4000 or nearest offer, cheap for a rallye and the price reflects the work needed to make it a minter.
